2018 Mazda RX7 – Attractive Sports Design

It is well known that every new model and make gets a slight makeover when it comes to the exterior design and that is precisely what we expect in the 2018 Mazda RX7. Unlike some of the crazy designs that Mazda is known to come up with, this one is going to be more toned down and will come with quite a number of features to keep you safe and entertained.

It is expected to be longer, broader and strikingly similar to MX-5, giving it a true-blue sports car appearance. Expected to be a two-door coupe, it will sport a long hood and a shorter rear end.

The interior is expected to be very sporty. There will be two seats and passengers can enjoy a low and centered driving experience. We are assuming that the chairs will be foldable that will allow the passenger to store the luggage on the rear rack, as the cargo space is going to be rather minimal. However, a few modifications will be made on the door panels and the center console.

There will be an infotainment system and a large display screen, as is the norm in most of the premium cars these days. But whether the screen will be placed on the dashboard or the center stack remains to be seen.

Engine Specs Of the 2018 Mazda RX7

You thought the Wankel engine was dead? Wrong!

Even though this engine has problems like high fuel consumption and apex seats and was only being manufactured by Mazda in the RX-8 until 2012, the 2018 Mazda RX7 might bring it back to life with a few improvements, of course.

Since the RX-7 will be the only car to have this internal combustion engine, it might lead to a good number of sales that the RX-7 is anyway expected to enjoy. The Wankel engine is going to be more fuel-efficient, powerful and will also be able to meet all the emission standards.

With a 1.6 liter twin-rotor, a petrol engine with turbocharging and a six-speed manual gearbox- it will give you 400 horsepower and 300-pound feet of torque. It is expected that Mazda will also offer an automatic version to its buyers. Problems like high fuel consumption and apex seats will be gone as well. In about just 4.5 seconds, the car will zoom up from 0 to 60 mph.

With the return of the Wankel Engine and a true sports car look and feel, the company hopes that the 2018 Mazda RX7 will get the welcome that it deserves when it gets launched towards the end of this year.
