According to the latest reports, the 2019 Lexus GS will continue without bigger changes. The iconic sedan it in production for more than 25 years and we have seen four generations of it so far.

The current model is present since 2011 and it is one of few models that is designed strictly for Lexus brand. Its platform doesn’t underprint any of Toyota vehicles and it is characterized by an RWD layout, although there are naturally AWD models in the offer too.

The future of this sedan is still unknown. Some reports suggest that the legendary model will end its production soon and that there won’t be the fifth generation. One the side, many Lexus lovers do not believe in these reports and expect to see next generation soon. In both cases, the current version will continue for some time more, which indicates that the 2019 GS won’t change much.

As we already mentioned, it is pretty much for sure that 2019 Lexus GS will not feature bigger changes. This fancy sports sedan will continue with its sporty silhouette, featuring brand’s latest design language. There is a familiar spindle grille that perfectly suits to this attractive sedan. With narrow LED headlights, it also features a high dose of refinement. Moreover, the whole car is perfectly shaped and combines its excellent aerodynamics with elegant and not so shape lines.

This elegance continues inside. The 2019 Lexus GS will continue with the same cabin design. It maybe lacks in terms of space, but it is pretty stylish. It also comes with a whole bunch of standard features, both in terms of safety and entertainment. So, we can conclude that 2019 Lexus GS will continue to be one of the best-looking mid-size luxury sedans, despite its age.

The 2019 Lexus GS will not just feature stylish appearance, but also a full load of standard features. Even the base model comes with standard features like 17-inch wheels, 10-way power front seats, dual-zone automatic climate control, Bluetooth connectivity, LED ambient lighting, a 12-speaker AM/FM/DVD audio system, HD radio, Lexus’ Remote Touch infotainment system with a 12.3-inch center screen, navigation, a USB port, LED headlights and turn signals, a sunroof etc.

There are also optional packages that include various kinds of premium features. Some of them are heated and cooled front seats; heated rear seats; a heated steering wheel; a head-up display; a self-parking feature; LED headlights with automatic high beams; a dynamic handling system with rear-wheel steering; and an 835-watt, 17-speaker Mark Levinson audio system.

The 2019 Lexus GS will continue with the same powertrain. The base model comes with a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine, which is good for about 240 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque. It comes in a pair with an 8-speed automatic transmission and needs around 7 seconds for a 0-60 sprint.

The optional engine is famous 3.5-liter V6. This engine features a direct injection and has a max output of 311 horsepower and 280 pound-feet of torque. It also comes with a new 8-speed automatic. When it comes to performances, it runs from 0 to 60 in about 5.7 seconds.

Finally, there is a hybrid powertrain, which combines the same V6 engine with a high-output electric motor, making a total power of 338 horsepower.

Besides those three powertrains, there is also a hi-performance version, which will come as 2019 Lexus GS. This model will feature a large 5.0-liter V8 engine, with max power of 467 horsepower. Besides more power, this version also comes with many other modifications compared to base models. Fuel economy goes around 20 miles per gallon in a combined drive.

2019 Lexus GS release date and price

The 2019 Lexus GS will come in the second half of next year. We don’t expect changes in price, so base models should go around 47.000 dollars. Main competitors will be models like Mercedes-Benz E-Class, Audi A6, Cadillac CTS and many others.
