The iconic 2019 Mazda MX-5 Miata will probably come with first updates. The legendary roadster came two years ago and latest reports suggest that the company is going to make first modifications next year.
This model originally came in 1989. During all these years of production, it gained a reputation of the best lightweight roadster on the market. We have seen numerous modifications of it. There are four generations launched so far. The current model is present for about two years. It came in 2015 with significant changes compared to the third-generation model. With a new design and improved performances, it continued in the same way as its predecessors. Now, it looks like first updates are on their way.

We expect to see first updates of the current generation with the 2019 Mazda MX-5 Miata. This update will come in the fifth year of production, so we could see various changes. When it comes to the visual appearance, we could see some smaller tweaks. The base shape will definitely remain. On the other side, we could see new details on the grille and front bumper, which could come with the new shape. Rest of the car will probably remain the same, although we could see some new colors and sets of wheels in the offer too.

It also comes with standard features like 9-speaker Bose audio system, 7-inch touchscreen, voice control, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert and lane departure warning.
Finally, there is a Grand Touring model, which comes with standard features like adaptive headlights with automatic high-beam control, auto-dimming mirrors with exterior heating, body-color mirror covers, automatic wipers, a cloth-lined top, leather upholstery, heated seats, automatic climate control and a navigation system. Each trim will receive several new standard features on the 2019 Mazda MX-5 Miata.
2019 Mazda MX-5 Miata engines
We don’t expect to see changes on 2019 Mazda MX-5 Miata when it comes to performances. It will continue with the same engines in the offer.
There are two units available. For the North American market, there is a 2.0-liter which has a max output of 159 horsepower and 148 pound-feet of torque. With this amount of power and extremely lightweight, this roadster needs just 5.8 seconds to reach 60 miles per hour, while a top speed goes around 135 miles per hour. It returns around 30 miles per gallon in a combined drive.
For some other markets, there is also a 1.5-liter engine, which delivers 130 horsepower and 111 pound-feet of torque. In this variant, 2019 Miata will go from zero to sixty in about 8.3 seconds. In both variants, you have a choice between 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic transmission.
