The new generation came recently, so we are pretty sure that 2020 Toyota Camry won’t feature bigger changes. The famous sedan has been in production for decades. It is definitely one of the most famous mid-size sedans that you can find around. The new generation came just recently, as the 2018 year model.
There numerous improvements compared to the previous model, in pretty much all aspects. The new version looks far more attractive, but also offers much more driving dynamics. Thanks to the new chassis, there is a massive weight saving, as well as new rear suspension that provides far better comfort.
Finally, there are three new engines in the offer for this excellent sedan. Considering all these novelties, it is hard to expect something more important to be changed for the third year of production. The 2020 Camry should come in usual time, in late 2019.
2020 Toyota Camry redesign
Most likely, the 2020 Toyota Camry will come without a single change in terms of base design characteristics. We are about to see the same design, which came last year with significant improvements. First of all, there is a new platform, which brings numerous improvements. Some of the highlights are weight saving, new rear suspensions and much better overall driving dynamics. Besides all these technical improvement, there is also a completely new styling, which is about to carry over for 2020 Toyota Camry.
It completely follows the brand’s newest design language. Besides attractive front end, it offers versatile proportions, sharp lines, sleek profile etc. Considering these significant changes, bigger changes definitely won’t come until a mid-cycle refresh, which will probably come in about two or three years. Same thing is with interior design, which is likely to remain unchanged, though new standard features are certain.
2020 Toyota Camry trim levels
Another aspect where 2020 Toyota Camry is about to remain unchanged is trim level organization. There are five trims in the offer.
The base L model comes with 16-inch steel wheels, automatic LED headlights, rearview camera, keyless entry, a 7-inch touchscreen interface, Bluetooth, USB and 6-speaker audio system.
The next one is LE, which adds few crucial standard features, such as an eight-way power-adjustable driver seat, 17-inch alloy wheels, 60/40 rear seat split and car alarm.
A mid-level SE comes with sportier suspension and few other tweaks.
XLE and XSE trims derivate from LE and SE trims and adds plenty of comfort and convenience. Count on things like dual-zone automatic climate control, leather upholstery, a head-up display, blind-spot monitoring, keyless ignition, 8-inch touchscreen, premium audio system etc. Finally, there are several standalone options like sunroof or parking camera system.
2020 Toyota Camry engines
The 2020 Toyota Camry will continue with same engines as the current model. The base model will feature a familiar 2.5-liter four-cylinder unit, which is good for about 203 horsepower and 184 pound-feet of torque.
On the other side, an optional 3.5-liter V6 offers more than 300 horsepower.
Finally, you can go for a hybrid model. There is a familiar system that combines a 2.5-liter gasoline engine with the electric motor, delivering 208 horses. Despite the fact that the amount of power is pretty much the same as on the base gasoline model, fuel economy is on a much higher level, so you can count on almost 50 miles per gallon in a combined drive.
