This especially refers to Europe, where are the highest standard. The other parts of the world will also follow this trend. So, the company decides to design completely new fuel cell and electric cars, primarily for Europe. So far, we know that the company is struggling to reduce the size of fuel cell tank to fit in compact cars, which are the most popular in Europe. On the other side, we can expect new SUV and large sedans already in 2020.

So, the first new models of this kind will be large in size. According to the latest reports, first vehicles that will come will be a fuel cell version of hi-end sedan and coupe LS and LC, respectively. These two models will get a completely new source of power.
The exact details about new powertrain are still unknown. For now, we know that the new model will feature a T-shape tank positioned under rear seats and two in-wheel electric motors. This is something similar to the new Toyota Mirai. However, we will definitely see a significant power bump, compared to the Mirai’s 154 horses.
